The annual Global Developers Conference also showcased new WatchOS 8, Apple Wallet, iMessage, Apple Maps, and AirPods skills. At the annual Global Developers Conference on Monday, Apple announced upgrades to many of its operating systems, the most famous of which is iOS 15. Apple also introduced MacOS Monterey, formerly known as MacOS 12, as well as WatchOS 8 and iPadOS 15. The developer betas of all Apple OS upgrades are available today, but the public will need to wait for a while to get the public beta, and a broad version may be released sometime this fall.

In an important keynote speech by Apple at the helm of CEO Tim Cook, the iPhone maker also introduced some new techniques for existing products such as FaceTime, iMessage, and Apple Maps. A series of new health features, updates to Siri and AirPods, and a new iCloud Plus service with enhanced privacy controls. The fully virtual conference for the second consecutive year started on June 7 and lasted until June 11. At the same time, this is everything Apple announced on the first day of WWDC 21.

In the past year, Apple has been under tremendous pressure from regulators and legislators, who are worried about its growing financial and industrial strength. In a lawsuit with Fortnite maker Epic Games, the company was forced to defend its App Store and the commission it charges up to 30% for many in-app purchases. We didn’t expect Apple to respond directly to what happened, but the company did spend a few minutes in its WWDC speech on Monday to remind people of all the technology it provides to developers. This includes sound insulation, scanning technology, and the Swift programming language.

“One of the reasons we created Swift and all these other technologies and frameworks is to help you build the best applications and the best places to discover these applications,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s head of developer relations. Apple also talked about the new features of its App Store, saying that it will create a new “in-app event” feature that will appear on the App Store homepage. Apple said that in-app events will also be built into the App Store search, new App Store widgets for iPhone and iPad, and product pages of apps in the store. Finally, Apple announced a new feature called Xcode Cloud designed to help test applications across multiple devices. Apple said that once developers upload their code to the company’s servers, it will be automatically tested on multiple devices and then can be easily provided to Beta testers.

Apple’s Mac web browser has always been a secondary banana to Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, although Apple claims it is faster and has longer battery life. In macOS Monterey, Apple said it is redesigning Safari to make it look more stylish and adding more synchronization features between devices. Apple said that labels are synchronized between devices. On the iPhone, Apple said it moved the tab bar to the bottom of the page instead of the top. Apple says this makes it easier to access and use.

Apple also introduced Safari’s desktop application extension to Safari on the iPhone and iPad. Apple said that extensions can share code on iPhone, iPad, and desktop computers, which also makes them easier to develop. Apple will make Siri and HomePod Mini a more important part of your home through the iOS 15 update

macOS Monterey, the next major update:

So far, this may sound like a broken record, but if you look at the feature list of Apple’s next major Mac software update, you will find that many of them are features you’ve heard of on iOS 15. For example, quick sharing and the new feature FaceTime function. Of course, Apple’s new Focus feature is also there. Apple has also built a new “universal control” feature in its Mac to help control its iPad. Its working method is very simple, you only need to move the mouse cursor to one side of the screen and it will start to control other devices. Apple says that cut/copy/paste is also effective, so you can take an item from one Mac and bring it to another Mac.

Apple says that Universal Control can run on multiple devices, so you can drag images across iPad, MacBook, and iMac to the same table as needed.

So far, Apple’s voice assistant is only available on its iPhone, iPad, Mac, and HomePods. Now, Apple says it will work with partner companies to make Siri available on their devices. So, for example, if your smart thermostat has a microphone and speakers, the company will be able to add Siri to it. Apple says it will keep all Siri communications in your home, so everything will work together without the need for an internet connection.

4. Greater health promotion

A few years ago, Apple added a feature to the Apple Watch to ask for help in the event of a fall. Now, it says that the health app will determine your likelihood of falling in the future. Apple said that this new data point called “stability” is scientifically proven and based on how you walk throughout the day. If you are more likely to fall, Apple says it will send an alert to warn you. Apple is building other features to help decode health data into its health apps. The company says it is building “trends” in its health app to show whether you are more (or less) active. It also builds more useful information in the laboratory part of its Health app.  Apple has also added a way to share health data with family members. The company says that people can now communicate with other iPhone users share health data and give them access to any selected data they want. Apple says this is especially helpful for families with elderly and children. Apple says all this data is encrypted and cannot be read by Apple.
